Hip Hop emerged in the 1970s in the South Bronx in New York and quickly became a global cultural phenomenon. It’s a unique blend of street dance styles, music, art and culture that has inspired countless dancers, musicians and artists around the world. With Hip Hop, you’ll get a chance to experience the energy, creativity and spirit of this powerful dance form.

 

Paradox Studios offers a variety of different Hip Hop classes, including Complete beginner Hip Hop, Traditional Hip Hop & Femme Commercial Hip Hop so you can find the perfect class that fits your skill level and interests. We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor! Our experienced teachers will guide you through each step and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise and perfect your moves. You’ll learn the steps, improve your technique, and have a blast while doing it.

 

Our Hip Hop classes are available as casual class drop ins or are included in your memberships. Our Hip Hop classes are not progressive which means if you miss one week no need to panic as you can just join in the week after and not be behind. Please purchase your block through our booking system Punch Pass by creating an account. Then you can book into each of those classes each week or simply arrive and ask our friendly receptionist to book you in.

Whether you’re looking to build your confidence and express yourself on the dance floor, or take your skills to the next level, our Hip Hop classes have something for everyone.

 

In our Hip Hop classes, you’ll explore the various styles and techniques of this dynamic dance form, including popping, locking and more. With its focus on creativity, self-expression and individual style, Hip Hop is the perfect dance form for anyone looking to push their boundaries and explore new challenges.

Meet your instructors

Lou Lou

Louise has been dancing for 21 years and started dancing professionally at the age of 17. Louise has performed professionally internationally and nationally in locations such as Egypt, the Soloman Islands, Papua New Guinea and Hamilton Island. 

 

Her career highlights include placing 1st at Hip Hop Internationals (HHI) Australia, competing at HHI Worlds in Las Vegas (State of Play – Hip Hop 2014), performing alongside musicians Snoop Dogg, Guy Sebastian and Eve, and as an artist in professional performance groups including State of Play, Silver Bullets, and Paradizo. Louise has appeared on TV screens dancing in Film Clips Xy Latu, Enoch, Ads (Golden Casket and Gimble)TV shows (Formal Wars)  and Sports Events with the Silver Bullets and even on the Channel 9 and 7 News. 

 

Louises classes are very energetic and high energy. You will leave class sweaty and with a smile on your face.

Faqs

Our Hip Hop classes are available as casual class drop ins or are included in your memberships. You can either buy once off $22 casual Classes or choose from our 5 or 10 class packs. If you are visiting the studio multiple times a week you might benefit from a $45/week unlimited class pass. For more information on our pricing with memberships and courses please visit our Pricing page so you can decide what is best for you. As we are an Arts small business, we don’t offer refunds or credits for no shows or illness.

Our classes are structured to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Each class begins with a warm-up and includes a combination of drills to learn specific moves and a basic choreography to connect the drills to music. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise and perfect your moves.

We dance to a variety of up-tempo hip hop music, including R&B, funk, and contemporary hip hop tracks. Our music selection is carefully curated to keep you motivated and inspired on the dance floor. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as activewear or comfortable dancewear. Avoid wearing clothing that is too loose or baggy as this can interfere with your movement.

You don’t need to buy special shoes for Hip Hop classes, but sneakers with good support and a non-slip sole are recommended. This will help protect your feet and prevent injury during the fast-paced movements of hip hop.
